Abstract

1,007,576. Endless elevator conveyers. H. KNAUST AND U. VON KRITTER. May 20, 1964, No. 20792/64. Heading B8A. The buckets of an endless elevator conveyer which is normally operated at an incline of at least 30 degrees are formed with overlapping walls to prevent entry of conveyed material between consecutive buckets. As shown in Fig. 2, a bucket 14 is secured to every second link 15 of a chain 13 and has a rear wall portion 21 which, when the buckets are travelling on the straight runs of the chain 13, extends over the front wall 18 of the following bucket. Every fifth bucket carries wheels 22 which are guided on rails (not shown). In Fig. 5, on the straight runs of the conveyer, a lip 26 of the front wall of the bucket 14a extends over the rear wall 27 of the preceding bucket. In a further construction, Fig. 8, buckets 14b are carried on two chains 31 provided with enlarged links 33 to which lugs 34 are attached. The buckets are attached to the chains by a pin 35 engaging a slot in the lug 34 and by a shaft 32 which engages the links 33. The rear walls of the buckets have lips 43.
