Abstract

1,175,652. Stacker cranes. SCHMALKALDENER KRANBAU, VEB. 9 Jan., 1968, No. 1288/68. Heading B8H. Shelf servicing apparatus comprises a truck 1 which can be raised and lowered and guided by columns 5, 6 mounted on a stacking crane trolley (not shown). The truck 1 comprises a frame with a rectangular base forming a platform, the longitudinal sides being arranged longitudinally of the rows of shelving. The truck 1 has a telescopic fork 2 which can be extended towards the shelves in both directions and which is arranged to be moved vertically to slightly below the top of the truck 1 and horizontally along guide rails 9. At the other end of the truck 1 is a clear space 4 in which goods can be set down when they have been removed from a shelf or have to be deposited therein. A safety barrier or door with two leaves closes the exit side of the space 4. Similar access to the platform may be provided at the other end of the truck 1, in which case central guide column 6 is replaced by two guide columns 5a, shown dotted. Control platforms 3 are provided and a small hoist 7 is mounted on a support 8 for longitudinal and tranverse travel.
