Abstract
1,173,896. Feedwater heating systems. L. & C. STEINMULLER G.m.b.H. 9 Dec., 1966, No. 55283/66. Heading F4A. Superheated steam is bled off from different points 1, 2, 3, 4 of a turbine and used to preheat feedwater in a system which maximizes transfer efficiency by minimizing the temperature difference between the two media. Steam from points 2, 3 and 4 passes through a series of superheat exchangers 12, 22 &c. before being condensed in feedwater heaters 32, 53 and 34. Steam from the point 1 is condensed in heater 11. Valves 16-19 are used to regulate the flow of feedwater through superheaters 14, 33, 12, 23 to substantially equalize the temperatures of feedwater at points where the branch streams recombine.
