Abstract

1,173,666. Elevated floors. M. A. HARVEY. 23 April, 1968 [23 Jan., 1967], No. 3322/67. Heading E1W. Elevated flooring slabs 1 directly supported at their corners by props 3 have associated formations which engage the upper ends of the props, these formations in two alternative embodiments comprising respectively segmental, Fig. 1, or triangular Fig. 7 (not shown) corner recesses 5 in their under surfaces which co-operate with circular or square prop heads, and in two other embodiments comprising downwardly projecting lugs 11<SP>1</SP> which extend into open upper ends of tubular props, such lugs which may be of segmental section being formed either integrally beneath the slab corner Fig. 3 (not shown) or formed on a separate cradle 13, Fig. 5 which receives the slab corner. The props of Figs. 1 and 2 may have, in addition to the usual screw threaded adjustment means, further height adjustment means in the form of four adjusting bolts screwed through the heads to engage the surfaces of the recesses 5.
