Abstract

1,173,065. Stud and socket fastenings; clips. WARREN FASTENER CORP. 24 Feb., 1967, No. 9071/67. Heading E2B. A clip fastener 20 for securing a member 60 on a headed stud 22 projecting from a support 30, comprises a body portion 38 having two limbs for engagement with the support and a resilient ramp portion 36 joined to the limbs at its lower end and having a slot 32 with a restriction 82 in it past which the shank 26 of the stud 22 can be forced to allow a part 42 of the ramp ; to engage resiliently against the underside of the stud head 24, the limbs of the body portion of the fastener being bridged beyond the upper end of the ramp portion by a resilient catch portion 50 arranged to overlie the inturned flange of the member and urge it resiliently against the support 30. As shown, the member is a moulding strip having an edge 68 which bears against a glass panel 70 as for example, an automobile. Other embodiments, Figs. 5-12 (not shown), include modified forms of the slot 32.
