Abstract

1,172,877. Workbenches. G. W. THOMAS. 26 March, 1968 [29 March, 1967], No. 14215/67. Heading B4X. A workbench constructed for easy assembly or disassembly comprises a plurality of frames each comprising two legs 1 connected together by upper and lower cross-members 3, a panel 4 connected to each frame, draw-bolts 8 connecting the frames together in spaced relationship, a bottom panel or panels 7 supported by the lower cross-members, side panels 13 (only one shown), having means securing them to the draw-bolts, a bench top (14) (Fig. 3, not shown), and fixing means 20 securing the top in place. Either or both of the panels 13 may have sliding or hinged doors, and several units may be assembled together (Fig. 1, not shown). The panels 13 are provided with battens 10 which may be formed with an open or closed groove for accommodating the draw-bolts. The bench top, which may be strengthened, is of laminated wood and may be provided along its edges with angle iron (16).
