Hammers. - To increase the leverage for extracting nails, a claw hammer is shaped approximately as shown with a bulge 2 around the eye, the whole curve from the base of the nose or pane 4 to the tip 3 of the claw being a compound curve, the part extending from the eye to the point 2<a> having a substantially long radius and the part from 2a to the tip 3 having a comparatively short radius.
