Abstract
1,172,502. Finishing fabrics; knitting. ROKONA-TEXTILWERK G.m.b.H. 21 Nov., 1966 [15 Dec., 1965], No. 51969/66. Headings D1K and D1S. In a method for the manufacture of a fabric web on a warp knitting machine having two guide bars, the web is worked fully drawn in on a first guide bar in satin pattern of substantially 40/13 denier nylon threads and fully drawn in on a second guide bar in the knitting pattern of substantially 40/13 denier nylon threads and substantially 30/10 denier nylon threads the, two threads respectively being fed over a leasing rod to the respective guide bar of the machine and then embossed under the action of heat, at a temperature of at least 200‹C and at a pressure of at least 28 tons, by a roller having a surface pattern simulating a woven structure. Preferably, the fabric is heat set at 165‹C and dried before embossing. The heat setting is effected on a stenter frame with an overfeed of 15%, a fabric speed of 20 m/min and a draw-off of 9%. An example of warp knitted fabric is shown, Fig. 1.
