Abstract

1,169,059. Control of A.C. motors. HOLZERPATENT A.G. 10 Nov., 1967 [24 Dec., 1966], No. 51339/67. Heading H2J. [Also in Division G3] A laundry machine is driven by a pole-change motor having low-speed and high-speed windings for washing and spinning respectively, the washing speed being further reduced by an electronic regulator. The motor 1 has windings 2, 3 corresponding to the different pole-members, the electronic speed regulator 6 being placed in circuit by way of programme switches 4, 5. A tachometer generator 7 supplies signals to the regulator 6 which also receives a reference voltage from a voltage divider 9-11 associated with programme switches 12, 13. The motor is operated at the spinning speed when switches 4, 12, are closed, operation at lower speed being provided by closure of switches 5, 13. When the tachometer voltage exceeds the reference voltage, transistor T3 is blocked whilst transistor T2 becomes conductive, whereby transistor T1 is blocked to interrupt the supply of triggering signals to the power semi-conductor device 14 in series with the motor. The transistor T2 is blocked and the transistor T3 becomes conductive if the tachometer voltage drops below the value of the reference voltage. The transistor T1 then becomes conductive so that the device 14 resumes operation.
