[Also in Division F4] A heat-insulating wall or panel comprises two outer layers of plastics material bonded to opposite faces of a lattice structure defined by a plurality of intersecting hollow members of plastics material, the spaces between the hollow members being filled with a heat-insulating material comprising foamed or expanded plastics material. The outer layers and the hollow members may be formed from glass fibres bonded by plastics material. The hollow members may be tubular or may comprise strips or a sheet of plastics material bent to form channels across which extend said outer layer(s). The hollow members may be filled with expanded or foamed plastics material. Two lattice structures may be bonded to an intermediate layer of plastics material. In making the transport container shown in Fig. 1, a number of layers 10 of at least partially unset polyester resin are laid around the walls of a box-like mould, vertical members 11 of foamed or expanded plastics material being laid thereon and then horizontal members 12 of greater depth than vertical members 11 and having slots therein; strips 13 are then applied and the recesses between the covered members 11 and 12 filled with preformed pieces of expanded or foamed plastics material prior to the application of a thin layer 15 of plastics material, the procedure being repeated to apply members 11a and 12a in staggered relationship to members 11 and 12, strips 13a, pieces 14a of preformed foamed or expanded plastics material and layer 15a. In an alternative procedure, the foamed or expanded plastics material pieces may be formed in situ. The inner walls of the container may be lined with sheet metal.
