1,168,917. Pharmaceutical compositions. SMITH KLINE & FRENCH LABORATORIES. 25 May, 1967 [27 June, 1966], No, 24466/67. Heading A5B. A pharmaceutical composition which ameliorates the effects of and prevents influenza infections comprises an effective but non- toxic amount of α-methylcyclohexanemethylamine or α. α-dimethylcyclohexanemethylamine or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof e.g. with hydrochloric, sulphuric, hydrobromic and maleic acids, and a pharmaceutical non-toxic carrier. The compositions may be administeredorally in the form of capsules which may be in a sustained release form, tablets or syrups or intranasally as a spray or drops containing 2-10% by weight of the active compound.
