Abstract

1,167,294. Inflatable life-saving craft. SPORTBOOT GROSSSCHÍNAU VEB. 16 April, 1968, No. 17820/68. Headings B7A and B7S. A life-saving appliance or raft comprising at least one inflatable buoyancy tube 4 forming with a base or floor member a buoyant vessel, and a canopy 1 extending over the top of the vessel and attached to said tube, has a plurality of non-inflatable, resilient support members 2 attached (at 6) to and arranged around said tube in such manner that on inflation of the tube the support members assume a substantially vertical position to erect and tension the canopy over the vessel. The embodiment shown has two superposed buoyancy tubes 4, 5 and the canopy 1 is supported by pairs of members comprising one 2 attached at 6 to the lower tube 4 and one 3 attached at 7 to the upper tube 5, the members 2, 3 of each pair lying side by side or sliding one within the other telescopically.
