Abstract

1,166,328. Reciprocating pumps. MARTIN - MOULET & CIE. May 24, 1967 [May 27, 1966], No. 24118/67. Heading F1A. [Also in Divisions H1 and H2 ] An electromagnetically operated diaphragm pump has a self-interrupting plunger type electromagnet comprising a winding 25 surrounding a core 26 which has a conical face 26a co-operating with a similarly shaped face 28a on armature 23. The armature, which carries pump diaphragm 20, is supported on a rod 22 which extends through core 26 and has mounted at its other end a block 29 carrying the fixed interrupter contact 35. Moving contact 30 is mounted on carrier 34 which is pivotally mounted on block 29 and is rotated to open and close the contents by spring 36 which reacts with the faces of cam 34a. Attached to casing 2 which surrounds the electromagnet is a valve and filter unit comprising a filter 37 and double valve assembly including a body 38a having a suction valve 39a and a body 38b having a delivery valve 39b.
