Abstract

1,163,735. Ornamenting furniture. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 17 Nov., 1966 [8 Dec., 1965], No. 52090/65. Heading A4U. [Also in Divisions B7 and E1] A trim sheet e.g. for use on the inside of car doors, or in furniture or interior decoration, is moulded from thermoplastic material, and comprises a flexible facing sheet 10 on one side of which is formed a plurality of solid rigid backing ribs 11 moulded integrally with the facing sheet and extending from edge to edge of the trim sheet. The ribs may be merely parallel, or form a square or rhombic or triangular or hexagonal network. The material is pigmented and is textured to simulate leathercloth. The material may be a propylene polymer or polyethylene or polythene or nylon or acetal polymer or copolymer or a rubber-containing copolymer of acrylonitile, butadiene and styrene (as described in co-pending Specification 1,143,408), which may also include polyvinyl chloride.
