Abstract

1,163,090. Transferring apparatus. CHESHIRE Inc. 23 Aug., 1966 [1 Nov., 1965], No. 37822/66. Heading B6C. [Also in Division B8] An addressing machine comprises a movable timing belt 16 to which articles, e.g. envelopes, to be addressed, are fed one at a time by reciprocable suction means from a magazine to a rotating vacuum and heat transfer wheel 60 to which heat transfer labels are delivered by feeding rollers 240, 242, from a cutting device which cuts the individual labels from a web. The vacuum and heat transfer wheel is arranged above the timing belt and supports successive address bearing heat transfer labels whilst the addresses thereon are transferred to the articles carried by the belt. Subsequently the used labels are suction fed to a collecting trough 364 whilst the addressed articles are discharged from the belt to a further moving conveyer for collection.
