[Also in Division D1] A crankcase for driving the doffing comb of a carding engine with an oscillatory motion, comprises an input shaft rotated by a pulley, an eccentric and crank mechanism for driving the shaft of the comb from the input shaft and a fan on the input shaft to blow air across fins on the crankcase. The pulley driving the input shaft may include the fan and a flywheel.
