1,161,710. Endless conveyers; shrink wrapping apparatus. LERNER MACHINE CO. Ltd. 2 May, 1968 [19 May, 1967], No. 23452/67. Headings B8A and B8C. Shrink wrapping apparatus includes a heating tunnel (not shown), an endless entrainment system mounting a plurality of freely rotatable and transversely disposed rollers 14, a fixed roller track 16 extending through the tunnel and engaging with the rollers 14 whereby they are positively rotated as they are carried along by the endless entrainment system, and a second roller track 15, at the start of the path of conveyance, movable into and out of engagement with the rollers. Jam jars 10 to be wrapped, are pushed by a member 5 into a curtain of wrapping material 1, 3, and on to the rollers 14. During the operation of sealing members 6, 7, the material 3 is held by a solenoid-operated brake member 26. When the wrapper is severed, the package is forwarded at twice the conveyer speed by the action of the track 15 in being raised into engagement with the rollers 14.
