Driving-arrangements for screw propellers.-A system of ship propulsion, having a propeller shaft 1 geared to an intermediate shaft 4 by single or multiple gearing 2, 3 has the intermediate shaft, which is in turn geared to the motor shaft, so arranged that the displacement rendered necessary by the gearing is used to give a less-obstructed or greater hold space. The intermediate shaft 4 is arranged below the propeller shaft 1 to reduce the height of the tunnel 6. Specification 113,990 is referred to.
