Abstract

115,945. Killen, E. B. June 27, 1917. Jackets and covers; tread surfaces.-A tyre cover is formed, in cross-section, of greatest width at the tread, which is of gable shape. In the form shown, the tread comprises a main central rib 9 with outwardly-extending side wings 1, 2 and in. termediate grooves or recesses 12 - - 15. Ribs 10, 11 serve to reinforce the tyre at the rim, at which parts, and at the tread, the tyre is stiffened with the object of confining severe flexion to the side walls.
