Abstract
1,158,119. Welding by pressure; soldering. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS Inc. 12 Oct., 1966 [14 Oct., 1965], No. 45565/66. Heading B3R. [Also in Division H1] A snap-acting spring blade for an electric switch (see Division H1) comprises superposed laminations 4, 6, Fig. 9, attached together at a single point by contact studs 22 at axially aligned apertures. The studs 22 are attached by pressure welding or soldering while remaining under pressure until solidified and comprise a face 26 of silver backed by a weldable layer 28 which is welded to a corresponding layer 28 of a backing or second stud. Either or both the stud and backing have projections 30 for engagement through the apertures and may be coated with solder. Recessed electrodes 34, 36 hold the studs 22 during the heating operation.
