964,480. Soldering. SANDERS ASSOCIATES Inc. Dec. 17, 1962, No. 47471/62. Heading B3R. [Also in Division H2] A solder-filled pad 15, Fig. 2, is mounted between two crossed conductors of a pair of crossed, insulated circuit strips 11, 12, at enlargements 13, 14 where the conductors have been bared, such that under the bonding pressure and temperature associated with the welding of the thermoplastic insulation, the solder melts and connects the contact portions 13, 14. The pad may be of sintered bronze which will not melt at the welding temperature. Alternatively, the pad may be of a thin-walled honeycombed material filled with solder, or of a porous material used with a thin sheet of solder attached to form a composite layer.
