Abstract
1,156,611. Conveyers. SCHIFF & STERN G.m.b.H. 31 Jan., 1967 [4 Feb., 1966], No. 4746/67. Heading B8A. [Also in Division A2] In an apparatus for moistening tobacco bales (see Division A2) the bales 2 are transported stepwise through the apparatus on carrying grates 1 which are supported outside the apparatus by their wheeled undercarriages 3 and within the apparatus by a roller conveyer (29). A reciprocable cable pull 32 passes round two fixed rollers 33, 34 and two movable rollers 36, 37 which latter are mounted on the end of a piston-rod 41 of an hydraulic cylinder 35. Bars 39, 40, connected to that part of the cable pull 32 that lies between rollers 34, 36, carry noses 42 that each engage a counter support (43) carried by the grates 1: on the grate 1 about to be loaded into the apparatus and on the grate 1 about to be unloaded from the apparatus, and convey them to the left on the actuation of the cylinder 35 and rod 41. The noses 42 pivot anticlockwise during the return movement of the piston-rod 41.
