Abstract

1,155,702. Gas candles. RONSON PRODUCTS Ltd. 20 June, 1966 [22 June, 1965], No. 26465/65. Heading F4T. A gas candle comprises a body 1 having a butane fuel reservoir and a known burner valve 3 controlling the flow to a nozzle 9. The nozzle is carried by a manually rotatable end cap 5 fast with depending lugs 12, 13 which extend through a yoke 21. This yoke is located on an axially movable stem 19 of the valve by a circlip 20. The lugs also extend through a disc 24 keyed to a rotatable control member 18 of the valve. On turning the end cap, the yoke 21 rides up fixed cam surfaces C to lift the stem 19 and simultaneously the control member 18 is turned and the valve is opened. Further rotation increases the gas flow by rotation of the member 18 until the yoke meets a stop surface D. A definite off position is provided by two ribs (27), Fig. 3 (not shown), on a skirt 11 fast with the cap 5, engaging over a rib (26) on an extension 14 of the body 1.
