115,569. Cowburn, S. E. Sept. 12, 1917. Straps and bands.-A coupling for belts and the like has two or more flattened helices, such as a, b, Fig. 1, of different diameters threaded through the ends of the belt and connected by a raw-hide pin c, a cord, or the like. Belts are spliced, or joined together to form a wide belt, as shown in Fig. 4, by threading through them two or more helices, such as a, b, b<2>, differing in diameter. Several arrangements of helices are described.
