Abstract

1,155,148. Dyeing or printing cellulose/polyamide blends. SANDOZ Ltd. 27 Jan., 1967 [1 Feb., 1966], No. 4187/67. Heading D1B Blends of cellulosic and polyamide fibres are dyed, pad-dryed or printed by treatment with a dyebath or printing paste containing a reactive dye for the cellulosic component, a basic fixing agent for the reactive dye which has a pH of at least 8.5 at 20‹C in aqueous solution, a further dye or dyes for the polyamide component followed by fixation, the dye or dyes for the polyamide component being 2:1 monoazo metal complex dyes free of water-solubilising groups. Preferably the dye liquor is applied to the blend at 80-100‹C with a slight excess of basic fixing agent, the mono-azo complex metal dyes being chromium or cobalt dyes and free from alkyl- and arylsulphonyl and sulphonamide groups.
