Abstract

1,262,310. Dyeing fibre mixtures. FARBWERKE HOECHST A.G. 8 Oct., 1969 [8 Oct., 1968], No. 49509/69. Heading D1B. Mixtures of cellulose, linear polyester and polyacrylonitrile fibres are dyed in the same bath by treating first at a temperature of 20‹C to 80‹C in an aqueous bath which contains an alkali, a non-ionic dispersing agent, a reactive dye and a disperse dye and after addition of a free acid and a cationic dye the dyeing is completed in an acid medium at a temperature in the range of 95‹C to 130‹C. A carrier may be added to the alkaline or acidic dyebath to aid the disperse dyeing on the polyester, preferably reactive dyes with vinylsulphone groups or groups which form a vinylsulphone group in alkaline media are used, tone in tone and multicolour effects are obtainable.
