Abstract

115,448. Nicholson, W. T. Aug. 15, 1917. Stapling.-A holder for driving-belt fasteners comprises a strip a, Fig. 1, of plain or corrugated paper, cardboard, or the like, provided with staggered perforations b, e, and slots g. The perforations b are passed on to the hooks c, Fig. 2, of the fasteners, and the strip is then passed round the inside of the fasteners, and the hooks f are engaged with the perforations e, after which the strip is doubled and the slots g passed over the looped ends of the fasteners. The two layers of the strip may be glued together at h. Figs. 4 and 6 show a holder comprising a strip of corrugated paper or the like provided simply with end perforations k; this strip is bent round the inside of the fasteners, Fig. 6, or it may be arranged to engage them on the outside. In a modified construction, slots may be arranged between the perforations k to engage the looped ends of the fasteners. In any of the above described arrangements, an additional paper strip may be employed on the opposite, side of the fasteners to the strip a, and secured to the fasteners or the strip a by adhesive.
