Abstract

1,154,436. Covering yarns by winding. MOULINAGE ET RETORDERIE DE CHAVANOZ. 13 June, 1967 [17 June, 1966], No. 27312/67. Heading B8G. [Also in Division D1] A looped yarn is produced by combining, using a false-twist spindle, at least one core yarn and at least one effect yarn which is overfed-for example by 40% to 300% relative to the core yarn, and binding the thus formed assembly with a building yarn before the falsetwist has disappeared. The assembly is bound by being passed through a hollow spindle having mounted thereon a package of the binding yarn. The yarns may be false-twisted using a spindle similar to the above-mentioned hollow spindle and having a cap fitted to one end with a twist-locking device in the form of a hook offset from the axis of the spindle. Artificial, synthetic, natural, metallic or glass yarns, may be used, with the yarns possibly differing in colour, degree of shrinkage or nature; for example the core yarn may be of wool or rayon staple fibres and be shrinkable, the effect yarn may be of wool or rayon staple fibres or polyamide continuous filaments, and the binding yarn may be a metallized polyester strip or a polyamide mono- or multi-filament yarn.
