1,153,765. Photographic silver-dye-bleach material. AGFA GEVAERT A. G. July 17, 1967 [July 16, 1966], No. 32726/67. Heading G2C. [Also in Division C4] A photographic light-sensitive silver-dye-bleach material contains at least one supported azo dyecontaining silver halide emulsion layer sensitized with a merocyanine dye of the formula:- wherein X is S or Se, Y is a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic group of 2-6 C, Z is a cation, R is hydrogen, halogen, hydroxy, amino including alkyl- or acyl-amino, alkoxy, aroxy, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, aryl, heterocyclyl, a fused aromatic ring or a -O-CH 2 -O- group in the 5:6- position, R' is hydrogen, alkyl, aralkyl or aryl and R" is a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic group, aralkyl or aryl. The emulsion is sensitized by adding a solution of the sensitizing dye before the azo dye is added.
