Abstract
1,153,360. Steam generators. SULZER BROS. Ltd. 15 Dec., 1967 [23 Dec., 1966], No. 57129/67. Heading F4B. A steam generator having a combustion gas passage the walls of which are lined with tubes 3 and in which there are banks of tubes 28, 29 separated by access spaces, includes an access shaft extending generally parallel with the tubelined walls 3 with openings at the level of each access space, said shaft having flaps 25 to prevent the flow of combustion gases through the shaft. The flaps 25, which can be located to close the access space openings, also act as floors, A ladder (19, Fig. 1), extends throughout the shaft, said shaft being suspended on the tube wall 3 by means of hooks (27, Fig. 3).
