Corrosion, in the exhaust flues 3, 5 of a vapour generator, is prevented during idle periods, by passing hot air from a steam heated air heater 7, through them to maintain them at a predetermined minimum temperature. Alternatively, the hot air may be obtained from an adjoining vapour generating unit.
