Abstract

1,151,976. Stacking articles. SCHLOSSER & CO. G.m.b.H. 22 Dec., 1967 [7 Sept., 1967], No. 58517/67. Heading B8C. In stacking moulded slab-like bodies 4 they are fed on a conveyer 1 and may be first stacked in a small group by expandable grab arms 8 on the conveyer and then fed to collector 10 at which a pair of tongs 12 receives them and loads them on to one or other of depositing forks 15, 18 (Fig. 2, not shown). The latter operate in turn to receive slabs and is lowered as each group of slabs is deposited thereon. When a set of say 20 slabs has been deposited on one fork this is further lowered so as to deposit the set of slabs in a swinging device 25 and the fork is slid from beneath the set whilst at the same time the other fork is slid into position above the set to receive subsequent slabs thereon. The device 25 is then operated and swings downwards through 90 degrees to deposit the slabs on a pallet 31 on an endless conveyer which is moved an appropriate distance after each set of slabs has been deposited. The slabs are thus stacked vertically on the pallets. When a pallet is full it is pushed sideways off the conveyer to a station 40 (Fig. 3, not shown), at which suitable tongs grip the entire stack of slabs and transfer it to another conveyance. The pallet is then returned to its starting position for re-feeding on to the conveyer.
