Abstract

1,151,630. Gas exhaust caps. CLAUDE B. SCHNEIBLE CO. 27 Nov., 1967, No. 53814/67. Headings F4B and F4J. A closed gas exhaust cap 13, mounted above a cupola shaft 10 by spaced bars 18 and provided with a lateral exhaust duct 17a connected to an exhaust fan F, which in normal use pulls the exhaust gases through duct 17 to a dust extraction system (not shown), is provided with a frusto-conical wind shield 20 surrounding the openings 19 between the support bars 18. On emergency closure of the dust extraction system the exhaust gases from shaft 10 may flow out through openings 19. The wind shield 20 is secured to shaft 10 by brackets 22, whilst a gas flow restriction ring 25 is mounted at the exit of the shaft.
