Abstract

1,151,402. Branch pipe fittings. ROHRWERKE BITTERFELD VEB. 30 May, 1967, No. 24868/67. Heading F2G. A corrosion-resistant coupling for branch conduits and mounted on a curved or flat wall 17 comprises a vertically disposed nipple 1 having a cylindrical extension 5 and a saddle-shaped part 3 on which is located a flat washer 4 and provided with a profiled locking means, such as teeth 8, Fig. 2, between the extension and the part 3 and a screw-thread 7, a saddle-shaped member 9 located over the nipple, and a coupling part 11 which is screwed on to the nipple. The latter is fluid sealed with respect to the member 9 by an annular sealing element 14 and the lower part of the member 9 has locking means 13, Fig. 2, the profile of which is oppositely shaped to that of the nipple. As shown, the edge of the opening 19 in the wall 17 may be flanged and the flange 18 lies in a recess 16 in the nipple the upper end of which carries a sealing element 24 secured by fixing means 25 and has attached thereto by a bayonet, screwed, flanged, or welded connection a coupling part 26. The coupling may be of metal, ceramic or plastics materials or a combination of these.
