Abstract

1,150,297. Spark erosion. REG-ELOTHERM G.m.b.H. 6 Oct., 1966 [16 Nov., 1965], No. 44744/66. Heading B3V. [Also in Division H3] In a spark erosion equipment having a switching transistor 1 in series with the erosion gap 3, 4, the transistor 1 is controlled by a fourlayer gate-turn-off silicon controlled rectifier 6. The four-layer rectifier 6 is preferably controlled by a rectangular pulse, differentiated at 10 so that the negative differentiated pulse turns off rectifier 6, turning on transistor 1 and initiating a working pulse through a current limiting resistor 2. The pulse is terminated by the positive differentiated pulse which turns on rectifier 6, turning off transistor 1. A shortcircuit protection arrangement (not shown) may feed supplementary signals to the second trigger electrode Bn. In Fig. 2 (not shown) transistor 1 is omitted, the gap being controlled directly by the four-layer rectifier 6.
