Abstract

1,149,738. Tractor power lift mechanisms. E. SATZGER. 25 Aug., 1966, No. 38270/66. Addition to 1,096,181. Heading A1P. [Also in Division F1] A tractor power lift mechanism in which draft control is operative in dependence on the delivery rate of a fuel injection pump feeding the tractor engine is characterized by control of the transfer of weight between the implement and tractor in dependence on the pressure existing in the lifting ram. For draft control the conduit 3 through which fuel is supplied to the injection pump 4 is connected with a pressure chamber 6 having a diaphragm 8. Changes in pressure in the fuel injection system thus moves auxiliary valve 7 which controls the main valve 15 to effect a lifting or lowering movement of the ram 16 as is described in Specification 1,096,181. For weight transfer control the pressure in the ram 16 operates a piston 40 to move the auxiliary control valve. In an embodiment the draft control and the weight transfer control operate in opposite senses on the diaphragm 8. On overload the valve 7 is fully opened to exhaust fluid from the ram 16 whereby weight is removed from the tractor wheels which are allowed to slip.
