A device for effecting a connection between a rigid wall 1 and a removable component comprises two rings 3, 14 slidable one within the other and securable respectively to the removable component and the rigid wall, a groove 23 in the ring 3 for positioning adjacent the other ring in use and rigid fastening components which are connectable to the ring 14 and each movable between a fastening position in which it penetrates into said groove and an unfastening position in which it is disengaged from said groove. The ring 3 has a shoulder 4 and a threaded part 5 and in use is fitted in an aperture 2 of the wall 1, a sealing gasket 6 being positioned between the shoulder 4 and an internal face of the wall 1 and a ring 7 engaging the threaded part 5 on the outside of the wall to compress the gasket. The ring 14 is either integrally connected to the removable component in which case circumferential ridges are provided on the ring 14 for sealing engagement of the ring 14 with the interior surface of the ring 3 or as shown the ring 14 is provided with a groove 20 in which a portion of the removable component engages, the portion having three lips, two of which are positioned in the groove 20 and the third of which engages the interior surface of the ring 3 to provide a seal. The rigid fastening components can take a number of forms; in one form three pins are used and these extend through apertures in the ring 14 and engage the groove; the pins are carried by a flexible strip 7. In another form as shown in Fig. I the fastening components are screws 17 which engage through tapped holes 16 in the ring 14 into the groove. In a third form each fastening component has a head and a shank the shank extending, in use, axially of the rings and the ring 14 has a groove which is disposed in use opposite the groove 23 the two grooves receiving the heads; the fastening components can be made of solid material or of folded sheet metal or each could be in the form of a bolt in which case a nut can be screwed on the shank outside the rings. To enable such fastening components to be engaged with the rings the ring 3 has the outer groove wall provided with gaps so that after the fastening components are engaged with the ring 14 they can be introduced through the gaps to engage in the groove 23. The provision of gaps into the grooves 23 enables a mounting and ejecting apparatus to be engaged with the ring 3 for replacing the removable component; when gaps are not required to enable the fastening component to be engaged with the groove 23 an additional groove provided with gaps for the use of the mounting and ejecting apparatus can be provided.
