[Also in Division E1] A sealing strip of elastomeric material for joints of tunnels and buildings comprises a solid body having a plane upper surface provided with a triangular sealing rib 5 of a material having a smaller modulus of elasticity than the main portion of the strip. Preferably, the strip is built up of interlocking prevulcanized layers having different moduli of elasticity, a portion 7 below the rib being of such material as to allow the rib to be pressed therein when in use. The strip may be fastened in place by flanges 3 reinforced with canvas, a rib 6 serving as a seal. The strip may be coated with neoprene.
