Abstract

1,235,025. Seal strips. K. ISAMATSU. 9 June, 1969 [28 Feb., 1969], No. 29075/69. Heading E1J. A seal strip comprises resilient material, e.g. rubber and is formed with a base structure 1 having a mounting surface 4 for bonding to one of the opposing members to be sealed, a root part 2 integral with the base 1 and projecting outwardly from the opposite face of the base to the face 4 in longitudinal alignment with the base and a resilient contact part 3 integral with and extending along the roof part 2 to engage the other of the opposing members the part 2 having at least as thick as the thickest part of the contact part 3, this latter being outwardly tapered in cross-section and a pile of fibres 5 implanted, as by electrode position, uniformly on the exposed surfaces of the strip other than the surface 4.
