Abstract

1,148,904. Thermal switches. KENLOWE ACCESSORIES & CO. Ltd. 2 Dec., 1966 [2 Sept., 1965] No. 37500/65. Heading H1N. A thermal switch having a monostable bistate spring member 11, of the spoked wheel kind, which is snapped over-centre by the expansion of thermally responsive means, such as a pressure-operated diaphragm wall 1, is characterized by the thermal means acting on the spokes 14 via a plastics cylinder 4 and a lever or bridge member 3 mounted diametrically thereof. Lever 3 is secured at one end to cylinder 4 and its free end is adjustably positioned by a screw 5 in a bore of a projection 6 from the other side of the cylinder. Diaphragm wall 1 carries a button 2 engaging the lever 3 to cause snap-movement of the movable contact 15 on the hub 13 of member 11 between a fixed contact 18 and an adjustable fixed contact 16 mounted on a screw-threaded rod 17.
