1,148,711. Microporous polyurethanes. POROUS PLASTICS Ltd. 31 March, 1966 [1 April, 1965; 7 March, 1966], Nos. 11862/66 and 11881/66. Headings C3C and C3R. [Also in Divisions B2 and D1] A microporous polyurethane is made by coating a sheet of non-woven fibrous material with a tie layer comprising a polyurethane dissolved in an organic solvent and having solid particles of sodium chloride dispersed therein, removing the solvent by evaporation, forming as a surface layer on the tie layer a layer of a mixture comprising a solution of a polyurethane in an organic solvent and dispersed sodium chloride particles, treating the coated substrate with water to remove the solvent and coagulate the surface layer, leaching out the sodium chloride and drying.
