1,147,859. Extruding. O. BIGINELLI. 19 Dec., 1967 [12 Jan., 1967], No. 57720/67. Heading B3P. A backward extrusion press has a plunger 1 with external splines 12 engaging internal splines 5 1 in an extractor ring 5 whereby during withdrawal of the plunger the extruded cup (4), Fig. 2 (not shown), adhering thereto, is engaged by the splines of the extractor ring and removed from the plunger. The latter has a replaceable head 1 1 secured by means 7, and a bore 9 containing a duct 8 for circulation of cooling water. The billet 3 may be of aluminium alloy.
