Abstract

1,147,075. Door panel and like frames. L. S. TAYLOR. 8 July, 1966 [24 March, 1966], No. 30877/66. Heading E1J. In a door body frame, window or other panel frame formed of hollow tubular frame members 12, 14, 16, the vertical side members 12, 14 have their ends cast transversely at an angle A greater than the mitre angle B and preferably 90‹ i.e. perpendicular to the sides and the top and bottom members 16 have their ends mitered and the sides of these members overlap the side members 12, 14 and are secured by welding, adhesives &c., to simulate mitered joints, as shown the frame members have along their inner edges flange portions 28, which are shortened from the ends by the depth of the top and bottom members 16 so that these members can receive the mitered flanges 28 of the members 16 and notches 36 in the members 12 receive the inner corners of the beading 34 on the flanges 28. The marginal edge portions of a panel 20 are disposed between the opposing flanges 28 of each of the frame members, and the panel may have a flange 30 to retain it in position.
