[Also in Division H1] An electro-phoretic imaging system includes photo-sensitive compounds of the 2, 3 phthaloyl 7, 8-benzapyrrocoline class. The preferred compounds have the following substituents 1-cyans, 3 nitro, 3-acetamido and 1-amino. Single or multicolour reproductions can be obtained by dispensing the compounds alone or with specified dyestuffs (as in Specification 1, 146, 019) on a Nesa glass plate contacting with a roller electrode covered with baryta paper, applying a potential between the roller and plate and exposing imagewise. In other examples, an electro-photographic element formed from the above compounds are developed by frost or relief deformation by coating the photo-conductive layer with a deformable thermoplastic layer.
