Abstract

1,146,301. Knitting-machines. BENTLEY ENG. CO. Ltd. 18 April, 1966 [20 April, 1965], No. 16469/65. Heading D1C. In a multifeed superposed cylinder machine top and bottom sliders move towards each other dining needle transfer, and the sliders are tilted to release the needles by cams, of which the one in the bottom cylinder is movable. When needles are to be transferred bolt cams 10-12 are inserted so that the sliders move towards each other and cam 13 tilts the top sliders to transfer all the needles to the bottom cylinder. Sliders of needles to be transferred to the upper cylindler move along path 17, and are tilted by bolt cam 5 to transfer needles back to the upper cylinder. During reciprocation cam 5 is withdrawn so as to avoid the tails of high inactive sliders.
