An ignition contact breaker assembly for internal combustion engines, more especially for a flywheel magneto, comprises a breaker arm 1 capable of oscillating about a fixed axis X under the action of a cam 3 driven by the engine and two breaker points 4, 5 for insertion in series with the primary circuit of an induction coil, breaker arm 1 being integral with a fixed support 9, being made of a plastics material and forming between breaker arm 1 and support 9 a connecting strip 11 which is sufficiently thin to be able, by deformation thereof, to play the part of an axis of oscillation X for breaker arm 1. The plastics material may be a polyamide resin or a copolymer of polyethylene and polypropylene. Support 9 is secured to metal plate 2 by a nut 8 and bolt 7, insulated from plate 2, arm 1 being urged against cam 3 by a spring 13, one end of which is riveted at 4a to contact 4, the other end of which rests against bolt 7 to also form an electrical connection from contact 4 to bolt 7, nut 8 serving also as a terminal. Rivet 12 prevents support 9 from rotating. Felt pad 18 in arm 1 lubricates cam 3.
