Abstract
1,145,857. Earth leakage circuit-breakers. B. & R. RELAYS Ltd. 13 Feb., 1967 [19 Nov., 1965], No. 49284/65. Heading H1N. [Also in Division H2] An earth leakage protective device comprises a circuit-breaker having a trip coil 35 controlled by a sealed magnetic reed relay 32, 33 which is energized when current is induced in the secondary winding 31 of a core-balance transformer 26. The circuit-breaker has an operating lever 44, which through toggle linkage (not shown) actuates bridging movable contact assemblies 28. A transistor amplifier, Fig. 12 (not shown) may be connected between the secondary winding 31 and the operating coil 32 of the reed relay. This amplifier may be accommodated in the space between mounting plates 81, 82. A test switch 37 is provided. The circuit-breaker may control single or threephase circuits.
