Abstract

[Also in Division H1] Honey to be heated is passed through a dielectric tube 12, 14, 16 which is mounted in a waveguide and projects at one end through the short-circuited end 4 of the guide, and at the other end through the bend 22 which connects to a supply waveguide 21. The tube diameter is tapered over section 14 in such a manner as to provide a good impedance match over a wide frequency range, with consequent uniform heating of the honey (see Division H1).
