Abstract

1,144,513. Buckles. ESPORTAZIONE OREFICERIE INVERNIZZI E.0.1. S.r.l. 14 June, 1966 [24 June, 1965], No. 26494/66 Heading E2A. A bracelet fastener includes a socket part B having a plurality of recesses 15, a hollow plug part A having a portion which is capable of being received in the socket part, latch means 10 in the plug part for engaging any one of the recesses to secure the plug part to the socket part and slide means 9 slidable in the plug part for moving the latch means so that the latch means is capable of engaging with and disengaging from any one of the recesses wherein part 8 of the slide means is outside the plug part so that the slide means is operable from outside the fastener. In the construction shown the latch means 10 is a blade spring having two portions 10b, 10c the free end portion 10a of the portion 10c normally projecting through an aperture 13 in the side wall of the plug part to engage any one of the recesses 15; the other portion 10b has a stop 11 projecting at right angles, the size of which is such that it fits within a cavity 12 of the part A so that the portion 10b is prevented from movement. The slide means 9 which controls the movement of the portion 10c so that its end portion 10a either projects from or is retracted into the plug part A has two projections 9a, 9b which when the end portion 10a projects from the plug part A are engaged with recesses 14a, 14b respectively in the portion 10c; to retract the end portion 10a into the plug part A the slide means 9 is slid axially of the plug part A so that its projection 9a engages the recess 14b. The part 8 of the means 9 is a button. The two parts are connected to the bracelet by providing them with end portions in the form of eyes 1a, 1b. In a modification the shape of the latch means 10 differs from that shown and it only has a single recess for engagement by a single projection provided by the slide means 9 in the fastening position; to retract the end portion of the means 10 into the plug part A the means 9 engages a part of the means 10 adjacent to the recess. Instead of the two parts having eyes for engagement with the bracelet, they each have a block which is provided with holes for engagement with pin portions at the end portions of the bracelet.
