A removable cover for the washing machine aperture serves as a draining board and the spin dryer aperture has a hinged lid 6. The mixer tap unit 8 has a swivelling outlet pipe 9 to supply bowl 4 or washing machine 2. The controls are mounted on a panel (10) on the front of the unit, Fig. 2 (not shown).
